Summer dressing can be hard to navigate. If you’re staying on home turf, the British weather can throw anything at you: from sweat-inducing temperatures to grey skies and pouring rain. And if you’re chasing the sun abroad, you’ll likely come across midday heat, seaside windchill and balmy evenings. So it’s a sensible idea to get your reliable wardrobe staples in order, and H&M Studio’s new collection is a good place to start.
Comprised of a concise edit of six styles, this breezy collection is made with summer escapades in mind. The hero piece of the collection, a halterneck black maxi with tiered frills, leans into the carefree, new new boho fashion mood – it wouldn’t look amiss on Sienna Miller or Kate Moss back in the day – and can be styled up or down, whether it’s with flats, biker boots, heels, jewellery, or layered over a bikini. Plus, depending on the weather in autumn, you could pair it with knitwear and jackets later in the year, too. Unsurprisingly, it has already been a hit with the likes of Mia Regan and Iwana Cristal.
The rest of the collection reads like a holiday packing list: there’s a flowing apricot-hued dress, an asymmetric appliqué skirt and matching bralette in the same light shade, a white ruffled throw-on midi and a short kaftan printed with an abstract black and white pattern. Take your pick.
H&M Studio launches online at Hm.com and in-store on 4 July.
