Chioma Nnadi Shares Her Vintage Gems & The Styling Codes She’s Backing For AW24

In line with fashion month, the Vogue editors share their failsafe styling tips, outfit inspiration and new-season wish lists. Head of editorial content, Chioma Nnadi, discusses her love of vintage, her style muses and her beloved Prada coat.

How have you developed your personal style?

It’s funny because I feel like my personal style is kind of circular: like most trends, everything seems to come back around to the things I’ve always loved, whether that’s a sense for mood-boosting colour or vintage workwear. Mostly I like to make sure my style consistently has a sense of humour.

How do you approach getting dressed in the morning?

I once wrote a story on a fashion shaman who told me that it was important I plan my outfits ahead of time because having too many options is overwhelming for me – she wasn’t wrong. I find myself running late when I don’t have an outfit in mind when I get dressed in the morning.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought?

A vintage Prada purple shearling coat from the autumn 2014 collection that I spotted on The RealReal.

If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, past or present, whose would it be?

A cross between Fela Kuti and Mrs Prada.

Which designers are you excited to wear and spotlight at the moment?

Martine Rose and Wales Bonner are two of my favourites. It’s nice to collect their pieces because I find myself going back to them again and again.

What have you invested in recently?

I went to the Molly Goddard sample sale and bought a lot of her knits. People always think of the dresses, but the knits are so great. I also just got the Vivienne Westwood X Palace tartan flight jacket.

If you had to live in one outfit forever, what would it be?

Honestly, not something I could ever commit to! I’m far too fickle.

What styling codes are you gravitating towards for autumn/winter 2024?

I liked the shows that made the ordinary, everyday items a little more special – Undercover autumn/winter 2024, for instance.
