In 2025, boho is used to loosely describe anything with a free-spirited feel, including louche silhouettes, ruffle trims, suede, lace, broderie anglaise and tassels – among other tropes. As for a “boho sandal”? The same blueprint applies.
See the spring/summer 2025 footwear offering from Isabel Marant, which has become synonymous with boho since the label was founded in the 1990s. Amidst her signature slouchy moccasin boots, there was an array of sandals that fitted the “boho” descriptor perfectly: suede styles with ties that climbed models’s calves; thong-toe styles with buckled ankles, and others that were flourished with studs, beads and stitching. Elsewhere, Chemena Kamali continued her boho-rooted tenure at Chloé with charm-adorned, closed-toe sandals secured with ankle ties, which were shown alongside her playful take on jelly shoes.
