The perfect trackies should strike a balance between being the most comfortable items in your wardrobe (for obvious reasons), while retaining a level of style and polish that make them more than just sofa-bound loungewear. Sounds simple enough? Yet somehow so many just miss the mark.
Some might say I was a bit too over excited when I first tried on this Uniqlo:C tracksuit, but I assure you it’s worth the hype, and then some. With sporty silhouettes infiltrating our everyday outfits as well as our off-duty uniforms, these trackies have seen me through relaxing long weekends, spontaneous pub trips and even the occasional office day at Vogue HQ. I think I might just have found the elevated, yet affordable, one-and-done tracksuit to rule them all.

My partner and I have always invested in Uniqlo’s unisex offerings, so it’s hardly a surprise that we often both turn up to our weekend walks twinning in our tracksuits. You’ll find us wearing our matching outfits in London’s parks and pubs over the weekend on a regular basis. I’ve even heard of this tracksuit being worn by teenage sons and their mums – it’s safe to say it’s becoming a household staple. So why is this tracksuit so perfect, you ask?
The tracksuit bottoms have a sturdy waistband that sits on the hips perfectly, with a drawstring that can be easily adjusted to help find the perfect (and most comfortable) fit. And my favourite feature? The adjustable ties in the hem, so you can choose the silhouette. I typically opt for a tie, giving the trousers a sporty balloon-like shape, while my partner prefers the original wide-leg shape, which keeps his looking equal parts relaxed and elevated.

The hoodie has just the right amount of slouch, with a well-sized hood that retains its shape around the head, while also protecting your hair from the rain when needed. Plus, the individual front pockets help to avoid any mis-shaping when carrying small essentials.
I’ve now lost count of how many times I’ve worn these perfectly structured trackies – where I lack the patience to even attempt to calculate the cost per wear, I make up for it in a variety of outfit pics for proof. I’ve paired this versatile tracksuit with most of my wardrobe, from bomber jackets to blue stripe shirts, and black boots to ballet pumps, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
Every Londoner knows that the perfect tracksuit is a year-round essential, so when I saw that Uniqlo had dropped a shorts version of its cult joggers, I had to snap them up for summer. I’ve already got my hands on the black and grey pair and have been dreaming up the comfort-led Glastonbury outfits that I can’t wait to take to Worthy Farm.
