Gone are the days of flower crowns and wellies – some of the major festival trends for 2025 are grounded in sex appeal. Judging by the outfits seen both on and off the stage at Coachella, Kate Moss-worthy naked dresses (as seen on Gabbriette and Alex Consani), hot pants (Jennie) and bra tops (Tyla) are all on the agenda. There was still a flavour of whimsical boho floating around Palm Springs, a movement that will no doubt come into its own at Glastonbury, while thigh-grazing hemlines and sheerness were in abundance, suggesting yet another “hot girl summer” could be on the horizon.
And for those who’d rather adopt a more comfortable approach to festival style at Worthy Farm or at the many London parks hosting back-to-back day fixtures this summer, then trackies tucked into hard-wearing, ready-for-any-terrain boots, sensible trainers, baseball caps and graphic T-shirts are other staples that will be ubiquitous come June. Graphic tees, like Conner Ives’s viral “Protect The Dolls” tee – which the designer mobilised to produce after wearing it to take his autumn/winter 2025 bow and has since raised thousands of pounds for Trans Lifeline – or Charli XCX’s vintage Lou Reed tee, styled with an asymmetric miniskirt from All-In and satin pumps from Vivaia, will also live in revellers’ wardrobes for festival season and beyond. The countdown is on: scroll on for some festival style moments to inspire your summer outfits.
