Street style has always been held up as a celebration of personal style, however in a world of attention-seeking styling and TikTok trends, algorithm dressing has become a little tiresome. As editor Alice Newbold declared, “The best street style is quiet, considered, curated – boring, even” – and nothing sums up this anti-peacock approach to fashion week quite like a great pair of jeans. Instead of cartoonish looks, the spring/summer 2025 circuit has seen a rise in everyday styling – outfits you can “live in, not just pose in.”
This means that the latest deluge of street-style imagery is filled with styling ideas you could realistically recreate for a Sunday pub lunch. When it comes to silhouettes, the much-documented skinny jeans revival has yet to appear on the streets, as wide-leg flares, baggy styles and exaggerated barrel-legs dominated in all four capitals. Ensure that the jeans are the focus, and keep the rest of the look relatively muted. Style with autumn classics, such as a suede jacket, a button-down Oxford shirt or a luxurious knit.
