Bikini season is upon us. The annual stream of grid photos, capturing celebrities holidaying in far-flung destinations, has begun. Hampstead Heath’s mixed bathing has opened its booking system, the lanes in city Lidos are as busy as the M25 and people are sunbathing in parks.
The beloved triangle top is up there in the pantheon of swimwear greats, and for 2025 it’s been given an upgrade by way of embellishments. Kylie Jenner wore Gimaguas’s studded Aro top (and matching swim hot pants, another of this season’s trending swim silhouettes) for a recent holiday. And during the same trip, she posed for beachside snaps in a diamanté-adorned, ’90s-hailing Chanel set, also cut to triangular perfection.
On a more saccharine (rather than siren) note, Bella Hadid’s collaboration with Frankies Bikinis, a prime supplier of Cali swim goods, featured a capped-sleeved, polka-dot bikini top that tapped into the current obsession with whimsical (see also: nightie dresses and granny shoes). The capsule wasn’t an exclusively cutesy vibe, however, as there was a touch of cowgirl attitude thrown in for good measure, via halter-neck bikinis she modelled on horseback and an underwire top she wore in a stable.

Swimwear isn’t a common appearance on the runways, but for spring/summer 2025 Miuccia Prada proposed new ways of wearing bikinis beyond the beach. Mrs Prada provided the ultimate holiday dressing inspiration via graphic piped bikinis worn beneath semi-sheer floral dresses and sporty briefs paired with cap-sleeved knitted tops, chain belts and thong-toe sandals.
