Fashion month is over – now, it’s time to digest. What, exactly, roused our style appetite? Here in London, the British Vogue team gave the disco rugby tops shown at Talia Byre’s presentation a unanimous yes. Aaron Esh’s liquid silk creations, the hair bows and saccharine accessories that stomped the runway at Chopova Lowena, and the reversible sequins seen at Feben were all triumphs. Fashion East’s new guard – Pia Schiele of Loutre, Cameron Williams and Jebi Labembika of Nuba, and footwear designer Kitty Shukman – as well as returning designer Olly Shinder, also brought plenty of inspiring propositions to the fore.
Elsewhere, Vaquera’s kitten-heel cowboy boots and Willy Chavarria’s billowing trousers captivated stateside show-goers; Milan saw beautiful new bags from Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta and revamps of shoe shapes from the Prada archive; and in Paris, it was Miu Miu’s “endcore” wardrobe, Saint Laurent’s pitch-perfect suiting and Louis Vuitton’s spliced-silhouette mastery that were committed to camera rolls.
